OUSL · MECHANICAL ENGINEERING · FIRST YEAR BUILDING A CAD DRAFTING PORTFOLIO
08 / ABOUT

Curiosity with
a direction.

I’m Udara Sandakelum, a first-year Mechanical Engineering student at the Open University of Sri Lanka. I’m working toward entry-level CAD drafting opportunities while continuing to make, draw, research and write.

OUSL · ME

Engineering is my centre of gravity.

I’m still at the beginning of my engineering education, and I want to build a strong foundation. Drafting appeals to me because it asks for both spatial thinking and care: a drawing has to carry an idea clearly enough for another person to understand and use.

Outside that focus, my interests stretch into software, web and game development, fine art, architecture, design, science research, innovation and books. I don’t see these as a set of unrelated identities. They are different ways I practise observing, making decisions and communicating what I notice.

What you can expect from me

Honesty about what I know, care with the work in front of me, and a willingness to ask questions, take feedback and improve. I’m looking for a place to grow through real drafting work—not pretending I’ve already finished that journey.
